The game was a hit, and many Nintendo fans have called for a Switch release of Wii Sports Resort for a new generation of gamers to enjoy. Wii Sports Resort improved on the original release by adding a host of new challenges and minigames, all set in the tropical realm of Wuhu Island. The title followed on from Wii Sports, which came bundled with the Nintendo Wii itself in order to show off the capabilities of the console's motion controls. Wii Sports Resort was one of the most beloved Wii titles, impressing players with its variety of minigames and competitive play. Nintendo appears to have abandoned the Wii series, choosing not to continue the line of sports party games with Nintendo Switch, but LEGO could be ready to fill the Wii Sports Resort void. Fans of LEGO and Wii Sports Resort might soon be able to get their hands on an official collaboration set honoring the classic Nintendo Wii game thanks to the LEGO Ideas initiative.
